The Mountain Pine (Latin: Pinus Mugo) belongs to the family of Mountain Pines.

Its needles contain a medicinally active essential oil with a spicy scent. This oil stimulates the blood- circulation, is anti-inflammatory and relieves pain, and is therefore particularly soothing for muscles, joints and blood vessels. It is expectorant for the bronchial passages. It also inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi.

Due to these characteristics Mountain Pine oil is frequently used in the pharmacy sector.
